School Eco Team

Our Commitment to a Greener Future

Thorp Primary School is proud to announce the launch of our Eco Team in 2025. This initiative reflects our dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Starting in Spring 2025, our Eco Team meet weekly to discuss and implement positive environmental changes within our school and local community. Through collaboration, students will explore innovative ways to reduce waste, conserve energy, and promote sustainable practices.

The weekly meetings will serve as a platform for students to voice their ideas, take actionable steps, and engage in hands-on eco-friendly projects. By fostering a culture of environmental awareness, we aim to empower our students to become leaders in sustainability.

Each class from Year 1-6 has a least one representative on the Eco Team. They will have various roles from promoting a healthier environment, ensuring recycling procedures are followed, litter picking and working within the local community where possible. Team members will then share back to their respective classes.

As a team we will be planning non uniform days and other fund raising projects to help us improve the school environment.

We look forward to working together to make a lasting impact on our school and beyond!
