Welcome to Year 4

Our class teacher for the 2024/25 academic year is Mrs Fernandez.  Our teaching assistant is Mrs Smith-Walkden.

In Year Four, we cover many exciting topics to enhance children’s knowledge and understanding in-line with The National Curriculum 2014.  British Values also underpin our curriculum.

Our key topic areas this year are:

Autumn Term 1 – How much do you know about European Countries 

Autumn Term 2 - What were the achievements of the earliest civilizations- particularly the Ancient Egyptians?

Spring Term 1 – Where will a road trip around England take me?

Spring Term 2 - What impact did the Roman Empire have on Britain?

Summer Term 1Why are most of the world’s cities located by rivers?

Summer Term 2- Why did all the mills disappear from Royton?

P.E.

We will have our PE lessons on a Monday.  It is essential that children remember to bring their outdoor PE kit in on a weekly basis.  

Homework

Homework will be given out on a Friday and needs to be returned to school by the following Tuesday.  Homework will include: English, Maths, Spelling, Spelling Shed, reading and Times Tables Rock Stars.
